I'm tempted to offer DW2's Against the Wastelords. Has anyone here read it carefully enough to know the plotline? I could also try running on of the other modules. Metropolis Rho looks promising, but it would take me a while to prep that one as I have only skimmed it to date.

Cyberpunk is my next favorite.

I'm also starting to enjoy Deadlands, and I am interested in Hell on Earth and Lost Colony, which move the Deadlands timeline forward into post-apoc and outer-space settings. All of these are Savage Worlds settings.

Finally, I'm sorely tempted to invest in Necropolis. It's another Savage Worlds setting. This one takes place in the distant future on the last surviving human colony, which is besieged by "undead"-ish aliens. Nice!

Ok, here's a PA/Zombie idea I've been tossing around for the last few days.

Something catastrophic happened, a virues or bacterial infection that killed most of the world. In attempts to stop the virus, scientists came up with a "cure" that ended up turning people into zombies instead (this part of it is really up in the air, I just want an good, old-fashioned, Night of the Living Dead type of zombie thriller).

It's a few years later, your small group has ended up in South America Or some other jungle area where human populations were low, but food was naturally relatively plentiful. You found a good defensive area with a water supply and setup camp.

You have a couple vehicles, and a garden to grow specific foods. Local plants are harvested for biofuels. The water tower collects rainfall. The radio tower is there to scan the airwaves for other pockets of survivors, and to transmit your own messages.

You make occasional forays into nearby towns and cities to get vehicle parts, ammunition, etc.

Of course I'd have adventures (the forays and occasional zombie incursions, and gangs of raiders, etc.). And of course some overarching goal or happening that would drive things along.

I'd be into that.

I also started a Shadowrun game.

When my friend first brought over 1st ed when I was just out of school I thought Cyberpunk and fantasy. How stupid can that be. I made a street Samurai and within five minutes of playing I was hooked. There seemed something natural about a Elf bartender and troll bouncers.

Corporations rule and its you they hire when they want something done. Something illegal that is.

That could be fun, but it does seem like an odd mix of fantasy, urban arcana, and cyberpunk. Like every game, though, the quality is mostly in the story rather than the setting.

So, who here already knows "Against the Wastelords?" I'll think about prepping another module if the cats have already been let out of that bag.

I have an old version of Shadowrun. I never got a chance to play it however but kept the book even after the move as I thought it was a cool setting and idea. I am not sure I will have time to play the Shadowrun game that Sithgod setup I will need to think about it for a little bit.

I have not heard of Against the Wastelords. Do you have any links to websites on it?

I setup my PA Zombie game, so if interested, subscribe and you can help shape the game world. It's the one called Jungle Earth.

Shadowrun predates most of the other similar games. It along with the original Cyberpunk game were close to the start of the genre in terms of rpg games. SR has survived as long as it has and 4ed's of the game because IMO it is one of the best games ever released.

Fobbo: Against the Wastelords is a published module for Darwin's World. There's no real link per se, but it has a pretty good story, although it is also fairly combat-heavy. Two additional modules continue the story line, with plenty of options to branch off into new directions after the first module is completed.

I'd be interested in a superhero game of some type. I've been working on a new system on and off for a couple of years but am still working the bugs out. Anyone know of a really easy yet flexible system to play?

For Superheroes there really is only one system worth bothering with: Hero System. It may seem difficult and such at first glance, but there really isn't a better choice currently available and once you grock how it works it becomes second nature. Like any other system really.

Ooo... fellow "Stranger" fan. I hear ya on that. My buddies and I have been playing a few Hero games on and off over the years. I love the flexibility but hate the die roles. That's why I've been working on a new system to try to get rid of some of the excess yet keep the flexibility without any chart and graph non-sense either. Hopefully I should have a trial / playtest edition together by Feb. I plan on running a demo at TotalConfusion convention in MA so I can find playtesters and work the bugs out.

Sounds interesting. What chart and graph non-sense are you referring to? Are you talking about the modifier charts for maneuvers? Certainly not the Speed Chart.
